Every year, during the summer, the city organizes a photography exhibition in the Bonaparte garden. An open-air gallery which this year welcomes the works of Emma B., Felix Isselin and Eric Thibault. The opening of the exhibition took place on June 26, in the presence of Guillaume Decard, deputy delegate for cultural affairs, departmental councilor, member of the municipal council and a public who came to discover in preview the work of the three artists exhibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exhibition open to all.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Last April, Saint-Rapha\u00ebl launched a competition open to professional photographers from the Var Est\u00e9rel M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e Urban Community (CAVEM) on the theme \u201ca look at the architecture and town planning of Saint-Rapha\u00ebl\u201d. This competition is a continuation of the various artistic projects proposed by the city in 2015, relating to the territory and architecture. `in this context the municipality wishes to promote local photographers, by inviting them to highlight all the richness and diversity of Rapha\u00ebl’s architectural heritage. As Guillaume Decard points out, \u201cThe city has been working for several years to highlight its heritage through various exhibitions. The seabed, the Est\u00e9rel massif, today the architecture of the city and its visual identity. With Julien Desvigne, (professional photographer) we worked on this new photographic competition theme. Over time, the subjects will evolve, it is important to highlight the artists of our territory and to be able to offer them this space of expression. It is a source of pride to open this exhibition to all Raphael residents and tourists visiting our city.\u201d As Julien Desvigne pointed out, \u201cSome application files were very difficult to decide, the general quality was high, but our three winners stood out from the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A moment of sharing and cultural discovery.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Three talented photographers and as many artistic approaches for what the eye of the artist perceives or sublimates as he questions urban space. Starting with Emma B who presents photos in black and white to take the opposite view of color and better bring out the architectural lines, while focusing on perspectives and light. A walk through Saint-Rapha\u00ebl at various times of the day, in which the public is invited to discover or rediscover the city through their eyes. Felix Isselin, for his part, studied architecture as part of his studies, the theme of the competition immediately appealed to him. The structure, the detail, the color are its common thread. His eye seeks purity, line, slope, with a desire to show architectural variety. For Eric Thibault it is the city and its opening onto the sea which is a source of inspiration. This openness is at the center of his achievements. He photographed five buildings using a lens with a 180\u00b0 angle of view with the idea of obtaining a rendering different from the perception of the human eye. Unique and amazing effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exhibition that invites discussion, as evidenced by this couple of walkers: \u201cIt encourages us to go and visit the places photographed! \u00bb, \u201cYes,\u201d added this other lady, \u201cwe are looking to which building this architectural detail belongs to. We learn to look differently, it\u2019s interesting.\u201d An exhibition to awaken curiosity and discover the wealth of local talent, until September 30 at the Jardin Bonaparte!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
